Dear John

I would like to introduce my new work “Dear John.”

Synopsis …

John has been working long hours and is struggling to put food on the table. While working, he thinks about his family and how much he is missing them. After work every night he rushes home, anticipating that warm embrace from his loved ones. That momentary embrace makes everything worth while.

Then one night, John finds out, it just wasn’t enough.

On that fateful night, John walked into an empty house. At first he thinks they have been robbed. After many minutes of bewilderment, John sees a note on the floor…

“Dear John,

I’ve left this house as empty as your heart!

Dear John

One of my goals this year has been to have stronger story telling in my work.  The main goal for this project was to create an image that has a story that portrays two very different views within the same image.

Johns view:
Poor John, sitting very distraught in a sad empty room. How could Sue do this to him? Why would she be so cruel?

The letter on the floor from Sue is the crux of the story.

Sue’s view:
In one sentence Sue implies that John hasn’t been the best partner. What did he do to her? Life with John must have been be pretty bad to leave him like this.

I would like to thank you for viewing my work.
